The Valhalla 2 USB 2.0 is a revolutionary USB cable – both in design and construction. For the first time, Nordost is using a flat, twin-axial geometry in a USB cable. This innovative arrangement allows the two signal conductors to run parallel instead of twisted, shortening the signal path and significantly increasing the transmission speed. Another advantage of the twin-axial structure is the separate routing of the power conductors (positive and negative), which are shielded from both the signal and each other – minimizing interference and other disturbances.

Nordost takes things a step further with the Valhalla 2 USB 2.0: Both power conductors are encased in a finely braided silver shield, as are both signal conductors – each shield is connected to the metal-coated housing. This completely eliminates EMI and RFI interference and effectively protects the cable against any external noise.

In addition to these innovations, the V2 USB 2.0 also incorporates all the proven technologies for which Nordost is known. The cable consists of four solid 19 AWG silver-plated copper conductors—one each for power and signal—mounted in Nordost's patented dual-mono filament technology. This enhances both dielectric performance and mechanical damping without compromising the cable's flexibility. Furthermore, Nordost's mechanical tuning is used to minimize internal microphonics and high-frequency impedance resonances.

The Valhalla 2 USB 2.0 is rounded out by the specially developed HOLO:PLUG® USB connector. This fully shielded, exceptionally lightweight connector was specifically designed to ensure lossless signal transmission from the cable to the port.
